Joey Hand and Dirk Müller in their BMW Team RLL M3 won the GT class in the American Le Mans Series race at Long Beach. Their win in the two-hour sprint, the shortest race of the ALMS season, followed their victory in the season’s longest race, the 12 Hours of Sebring, where they won along with co-driver Andy Priaulx.
The Long Beach race ended under yellow, with Dirk Müller holding a comfortable lead over the second-place Corvette of Jan Magnussen/Oliver Gavin. There was far more action in the first half of the race, when Joey Hand was at the controls of the winning #56 M3
