The 1 series M model

With production limited to an unspecified low volume, BMW has priced the 1 Series M Coupe at $46,135 (plus $875 destination and handling). Load it with every bell and whistle and it comes to $54,085. That pricing clearly undercuts the sibling M3 Coupe with its $61,075 base price, but it puts the 1M Coupe well above its natural competition: the Nissan NISMO 370Z ($41,340), Subaru WRX STI Limited ($38,040), Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR ($37,195) and smack near even with the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 ($49,495).

The BMW 1 series M model handles and corners nearly identical to a formula one or modern race car, but the ride is tolerable and amazingly smooth for such a race car driven suspension geometry.  Maybe the BMW 1 series M is too good of a car, making the enthusiast wonder why he should spend more for a 3 or 5 series M.  There is no getting around the fact that the 1 series M model is a car the enthusiast will NEVER get tired of driving.  It has the performance and handling of a much more expensive super car, while the fuel economy of a normal compact car.  BMW has a real winner with this car!!!
