Back home from Colorado

My M5 ran flawlessly and I averaged 23 mpg for our 1600 mile round trip. The seats on the E39 M5 have to be the most comfortable and well made ever put in a car. The Beast is so much fun to drive in the mountains! I couldn't believe the smoke from the forest fires in Arizona could be seen in Colorado and you could even smell the smoke at night! I was suprised by the light traffic on highway 70 in Kansas. Maybe the higher gas prices are keeping more people close to home. In Missouri we drove through some of the heaviest rain in thunderstorms I have ever seen, thankfully no hail. It was almost like driving under water and the M5 and Michelins handled it beautifully!
