The M5, the Universal Sports Sedan and Muscle Car

Although E 39 M5s have always been prevalent and well known in Europe for over a decade, as prices lower and the E39 gets older, more M5s are finding themselves in the hands of younger owners all over the world. These are cars for the automotive enthusiast who appreciates superior design and engineering. Many younger owners can do mechanical things to their cars older owners would only consider taking the car to a dealer or independent garage for.
The M5 is a unique car that never seems to get old when you drive it every day. It truly is the ultimate driving machine in my opinion. In many ways it was way ahead of its time when it came out and still is. It's fairly easy to modify and make faster, although maintenance for an E39 M5 requires deep pockets. One look at an M5 or BMW online forum shows M5s in about every country in the world and from the posts, some of the most automotive savy and classy owners of any car. I must say, I'm starting to see more and more of the "use the search feature" on M5 forums instead of answering a question with a short reply and thereby dousing the enthusiasm in a new owner.
Maybe it's the world economic situation or the electronic age that seems to be making people have a shorter fuse.
